Overwatch now has dedicated servers for the Middle East

March 29, 2021

Overwatch has now confirmed that there are two surprises dropping.

With Blizzard Middle East now officially announcing its social presence, the game will now have dedicated servers for the MENA region for players to play in.

After thorough testing in the PTR over the last few months, the Overwatch team is launching the Middle Eastern servers into the game. Blizzard says they are aiming to improve the gaming experience for players around the globe, and the Middle East is no exception.

Matchmaking might take some time to find a suitable match since the game will always try to find the best matchup possible. If the search takes too long, it will unlock other regions and find a match there.

And the newest character, Echo is now live on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Competitive Open Queue

Blizzard will also be launching a new Competitive Mode, Competitive Open Queue in the Arcade. Competitive Open Queue will run for roughly four weeks. This mode will use standard Competitive Play rules, including hero pools and one hero limit, but will have no role restrictions or role queues.
